Once all training needs have been collected and validated, it’s time to move from planning to execution. With just one action — locking the plan — your Task Plan enters its final phase: execution.

This is where planning becomes action and training activities come to life in Cornerstone.

Lock the Plan and Launch Execution

Locking your Task Plan freezes all contributions and approvals. At this stage, the validated training needs are assigned to Cornerstone OnDemand and the execution phase begins.

Monitor Progress in the «Task Plan Execution» tab

After locking the task, a new view becomes available: the Task Plan Execution tab.
This tab gives you a detailed and real-time overview of what was planned versus what has actually been delivered.

You’ll find the following key indicators:

  1. Learning Titles
    Compare what was planned and what was actually delivered, side by side.

  2. Number of Allocated Users
    See how many users were planned for each course and how many participated.

  3. Total Cost & Cost Composition
    Understand the budget consumption.

  4. Number of Sessions (for event-type courses)
    Track how many sessions were scheduled for each planned event.

  5. Total Hours
    View the total number of hours associated with each course.

  6. Status Indicators
    Courses that are no longer active, or linked to inactive providers, are displayed in grey — a clear visual cue that they’re not currently available.

Automatic Execution Tracking

When a planned training is completed during the execution period, the system will automatically register it in this tab — as long as it was part of the original plan. This makes tracking effortless and transparent.

You can also choose to view executed trainings that weren’t part of the plan by simply checking the box

Track Budget Use and Completion Progress

The Task Plan Execution tab is more than just a summary — it’s a monitoring and decision-making tool. It enables you to:

  • Monitor completion rates and KPI’s of your training plan
