Reassignment of Learning Objects to Cornerstone (CSOD)

Q: What happens when a Learning Object (LO) is reassigned to a user who already has it in their transcript?

A: When a Learning Object is reassigned in Cornerstone:

  • Any LO type (e.g., online courses, materials, tests, curricula, videos)
    ✅ will be reassigned as a new occurrence, even if the user already has it recorded in their transcript — whether the status is Not Started, In Progress, or Completed.

  • Exception:
    ❌ Events (Instructor-Led Training) are not reassigned as new occurrences by default.
    ➤ Events follow a different reassignment logic, which depends on their own configuration settings, explained in another FAQ and in chapter 8 of the user manual.
