📌 FAQ – Deleting a Training Need

Who can delete a training need?

  • A user can delete a need they contributed themselves, if the need hasn’t been already approved or denied. After the need has been arbitrated, only someone with override permissions can delete it.

  • If the need was contributed by someone else, another user can delete it depending on two factors:

    1. Whether Hierarchical Approval Workflow is enabled

    2. Whether that user has override permissions


When Hierarchical Approval is enabled:
Users at higher levels in the hierarchy can delete needs contributed by lower levels.


When Hierarchical Approval is disabled:
A user can delete a need only if:

  • They are the original contributor, or

  • They override the need during their contribution period (if they have override permission).


Important Notes:

  • ⚠️ If a user contributed and approved the same need but is outside their contribution period, they will not be able to delete it.
    ➤ Check and update contribution dates if needed.
  • 🔒 If the configurationManagers prevented to Replace or Delete end-user requested needs” is active, the delete button will not be available to any manager (regardless of level) for needs created by end-users.
